More images from Best Buds. I love spring and all the stages that the trees go through before they become the beautiful shady shelters we escape to for relief from the summer heat.
I am still working on producing window images for the California Building project that I started in February. The first 2 images are new, shot this April. The other 2 are from February/March. They are also the same subject shot two different ways.
Defunct xmas lights & I believe pedals for the piano.
Armchair details.
Sitting room for two.
The building where my studio is, the California Building, has these bizarre sitting areas on every floor, though I do appreciate the effort. http://www.californiabuilding.com/
Today Namdev, Patience, Zoey, & I went for a walk around Lake Nokomis. Well, they walked & I took photos. After waiting for what seems like forever the trees are emerging from their slumber.
The only way I can describe their performance is like a thunderstorm. You can hear it softly in the background approaching. The next thing you know it's right on top of you & you are looking for shelter. Even though there is danger you can't take your eyes off the clouds looking for lightning & hoping it strikes. Get it? Amazing. http://www.myspace.com/ssississpssk http://john-wiese.com/
Young Quitters my favorite hometown heroes. http://www.myspace.com/thankyouband They were a great source of entertainment musically & Joe's witty banter was also quite amusing. Their performance & personalities lightened the room.
I loved seeing these relics (cassettes & walkman) in action. Thanks Casey for putting this show in motion & making it happen. http://www.myspace.com/visionsofchrist
My husband, Casey & Dan Black helped set-up a show for Sissy Spacek at Art of This. I really liked going to see live music in a sunlit room. As I get older I am less interested in seeing music in a dark loud space at a time when I am normally not awake. This show was refreshing.
March 31st is the earliest I have ever been to a BBQ. Zach & Caitlin hosted the grilling at their new house. I ate until stuffed & drank Paul Wenzel's famous home-brew. Perfect night spent with friends. I hope this opener BBQ is a sign of times to come.
I am a fine art and commercial photographer and a partner in the creative shop The MVA Studio.
“Artificial Horizons” documents the photos I take on a day to day basis and new projects as they take shape.
