Minnesota Harvest

February 17th (mom's 60th Birthday, too)
Today I went to the Minnesota Harvest to further work on my winter landscape project. I got some really great shots but I decided to share with you outtakes of some friends I made there. I heard for the first time in my life the real sounds a goat, sheep and horse makes. I was really amazed. It did not sound like any of the impersonations I have heard.

February 5th

Here are some images that I shot on February 5th in Kenwood Park for my new project Plateau. More snow is on it's way which is really good for me and the project I am working on but unfortunately I am sick and will be taking a break this weekend from shooting.

I have been worrying that spring will get here before I am done shooting. Someone told me that the best snow is in March. I hope so. I need a really good snow.

I was not expecting that a solid block of ice would be under the new snow. Climbing the hills in the park was a challenge. I used my tripod like a walking stick to get up the hill. Walking around I felt like I was drunk because I kept stumbling on the holes created by people's foot prints that were frozen underneath snow. A good layer of new snow would fix this.

That's it for today.

Plateau

Hello Everyone,
I have been working on a winter landscape project since January and now I feel like I have hit a plateau. I am use to photographing a single subject and exploring every single aspect of that subject. With this project it's different. I am exploring a theme; places that are filled with people in the summer and cleared out in the winter. I feel like the images as a whole are very eclectic and I wonder if it doesn't feel like a cohesive body of work. I am posting some images. Let me know what you think. These images are only screen shots so please don't judge me on exposure color etc.
Thanks for reading,
KIM
