Johnny Jump Up

Even though Patience is using the Johnny Jump Up in a non-traditional way at least she likes it, for licking.

Babies

On Saturday I attended what is becoming a monthly mom & baby get-together. For me it was interesting to watch Patience interact with other babies. In general it seems so hard to get her attention but put her down near another baby and she will be very active & try her best to get next to the other baby. All of them were like that. Rolling to get near one another. Babbling at one another. Needless to say there was a lot of drool. I want Patience to be more social than me so I hope this side of her, reaching out to people, doesn't fade.

1st Roll Over for Real

The look of accomplishment

Remembering she hates to be on her stomach & starting to get upset.

Namdev had tweeted a few days ago that Patience had rolled over. I didn't count this because it was only the lower half. Last night she did it for real.

Lucky Number 33

It's Namdev's birthday...

and everyone is so excited about it,

even Zoey!

Today's celebration consisted of sleeping in, lunch at the Bad Waitress with JZ Keenan, setting up the new tv, Punch Pizza for dinner followed by cake & ice cream and a movie. Much needed family time. The past few days & weeks have been busy and stressful for the Hardisty household. We have been working hard to make our studio successful. Here's to a great year Namdev. Happy Birthday.

Sunset

Day 2 of image making. I think this project will consist of a lot of diptychs and triptych which I am excited about. I used to work that way before art school. The art school I attended was more into the body of work and how the images acted as a whole. After a semester of fighting I succumb to their ways and stop the diptychs and triptychs. How refreshing to be at the beginning of something again.

2010

Here are several views from windows on the second floor of the California Building where my studio is located. This is a start of a much needed new project for me. In 2009 I decided not to make any "fine art" & focus on trying to get commercial work. Part of this decision came after paying 2008 taxes and looking at how much money I spent on exhibition submissions & materials. I realized in 2009 that I really needed to make imagery and work on personal projects because it really does fuel me. In '09 even though I was working hard on other things I did not feel productive. I am hoping to make at least 2 photo projects for 2010, which will be the most I have ever done in a year. I am wishing for inspiration & motivation for 2010.

The Return of the Tundra

The weather outside is frightful.....

So since we have nowhere to go.....

It happens every year even though I convince myself that it won't.

The worse months to live in Minnesota or the Midwest at that is January through March.
Even though the days get longer the weather gets colder, a lot colder. Today the high is 1˚ and the low is -19˚ without the windchill. I'm not complaining, Minneapolis has so many awesome things going on that you forgive the weather. Plus in the summer you really really appreciate the weather and try to spend all your time outside despite that it's 90˚ with 99% humidity.

Well, the true winter is here and I am going to snuggle up with my family, watch movies, visit friends and wait for the thaw.

California Dream

Okay maybe not California dreaming but definitely thinking warm thoughts.
The low today is -17, so I am dreaming of my future garden for this summer.
This was my largest tomato from last summer's crop, granted it got too big and cracked.
